The Paris Wife

Great novel about Hemingway's first wife. Loved how McLain wrote about their love from the innocent beginnings all the way to the ugly end. Reading from Hadley's pov was powerful and I appreciated that perspective since much has been written about Hemingway. Then there were all the historical figures who they interacted with--it really was fascinating. I'm obsessed with this time period and this book was perfect. Admittedly I did spend a fair amount of time on google looking up information and images of people and places mentioned in this book. But that happens whenever I read a nonfiction book OR a book based on real people/events. McLain also did a wonderful job capturing the mood of post-war Europe and describing it in such a way that you feel like you're there or can picture it perfectly. Overall, very happy with this book and author.
